CIDOC CRM Game - Digital

This version of the CIDOC CRM Game is the first fully functional and free to play digital version of the CIDOC CRM game learning system! 

The CIDOC CRM Game - Digital, is a game framework for learning about

• formal ontologies in general 
• CIDOC CRM in particular and
• how to model data using a case study.

This edition of the game uses the example of the Marmoutier excavation in Tours, France in order to explore the world of ontologies and semantic data modelling.

The game is playable on Windows and Mac systems when downloaded and installed on the player's computer. 

Funding for this version of the game was made possible through "Mémoires des archéologues et des sites archéologiques" (MASA), a member consortium of Humanum.

To download and play please follow the instructions below!

Windows

1. Click on the link entitled "CidocGameV1.x.x.zip" below to download the game as an archive (compressed file)
2. Once download is completed, at the bottom of the page, a security warning message will be displayed. Choose "Keep"
3. Go to your "Download" folder
4. Double click on the archive to Unzip the game
5. Drag the unzipped folder on the "Desktop" or any other location of your choice
6. Open the "CidocGame_V1.0.9" and double click on the Black&Pink "CidocGame_V1.0.9" icon
7. Bypass the warning message "Windows protected your PC" by clicking on the "Run Anyway" button
8. Have fun!

MacOS

1. Click on the link entitled "CidocGameV1.x.x.app_.zip" below to download the game
2. Once download is completed, at the bottom of the page, a security warning message will be displayed. Choose "Keep"

4. Double click on the archive to Unzip the game
